Details on the new features in this version upgrade:

Territory Field - You will now be able to assign sales territories to locations using FIPS Codes, Zip Codes, A Range of Zip Codes, State and Country. To enable territories, simply enter a sales territory in the "Territory" box in the "Location Editor" in the following formats:
  • To assign territories by country
    COUNTRY:Brazil;Venezuela;Colombia
  • To assign territories by US State
    STATE:AL;MS;FL
  • To assign territories by Canadian Province
    STATE:QB;ON;NB
  • To assign territories by Postal Code
    ZIP:43215;43221;43212
  • To assign territories by Postal Code range
    ZIP:43201-43232
  • To assign territories by FIPS Code
    FIPS:02013;02016;02020

You can also combine territory types as follows:
  • STATE:FL;NY;ZIP:20202;COUNTRY:JAPAN;FIPS:02013;02016;02020
Important! Format is everything.  Territory prefix (COUNTRY - STATE - ZIP - FIPS) must be followed by a colon (:) and territories must be separated by a semi-colon (;).

Ignore Distance If Territory Set - This checkbox is located in Setup Options and is checked by default.  When set to ignore the search distance, a location assigned to a territory will always be returned.  You can uncheck this when you have more than one location assigned to a territory to show locations in order of distance from the search location.

Territory Radius - This numeric field to allows you to reduce the search radius for a specific location.  This radius overrides the "Search Distance" setting in the "Setup Options" manager.  It will be applied whether you assign territories or not.  If the Ignore Distance If Territory Set checkbox is checked, territory radius will not apply.

Locations without Address - You can now add locations without a physical addresses (for example, online retailers) and assign them to be displayed as the first location shown or the last location shown. To use this feature, create a location with no address, such as one of your online retailers.  Then, go to Setup Options and select the from the options in the dropdown list for Locations Without Address as follows:

  • Hide - This will not show locations with no address.
  • Show First - This will show locations with no address first in any search.
  • Show Last - This will show locations with no address last in any search when the locations within your set search distance are less than the Total Records Returned setting.  For example; If you have your Total Records Returned  set to 5 and there are only 3 locations within the search distance, the location with no address will be displayed in fourth position.  If you have 5 locations within the search distance, the location with no address will not be returned.  If you have no locations within the search distance, the location with no address will be returned.

Sort Mode - This expands our "Sponsor" setting to allow you to use any field to determine the order in which the search results will be displayed.  To utilize this feature, go to Setup Options >> Sort Mode and follow these instructions:

By default, the set sort mode is 1) Sponsor in descending order and 2) Distance in ascending order.  Making a location a Sponsor by checking the Sponsor checkbox will give it a value of 1 while leaving it unchecked will give it a value of 0 or null so by having the first sort criteria set as sponsor you will return, first, any location within the search distance with a sponsor value of 1.

You can also create your own fields and place them in the Sort Mode.  Below is an example of how to create three location levels, Standard, Silver and Gold:

  1. Create a new List field called Showroom Level.
  2. Add list values in the following order:  Standard, Silver, Gold and make Standard the default.
  3. Assign a showroom level to each location.
  4. Go to Setup Options and delete the existing two Sort Modes.
  5. Click Add new sort field, select Showroom Level from the dropdown list and select Descending.
  6. Click Add new sort field, select Distance from the dropdown list and select Ascending.
  7. Click Save.

In this example, on any search, Xtreme Locator will first look at the Showroom Level value and return the highest values first.  Then, it will look at the Distance value and return the lowest first.

Excel Import/Export - We have added support to import and export your location data in the Excel spreadsheet format (.xls).  This will aid users when importing zip code with leading zeros since most spreadsheet programs drop leading zeros.  If you find this happening, use .xls format for import/export,  highlight the "Zip" column and select the format as text. This will allow that field to retain the leading zero.
