Dealer Locator Joomla Component

With the Xtreme Locator Joomla Component, adding a dealer locator to your Website is a snap. The Joomla Component is free and easy to install in your Joomla Control Panel.  After you receive your Xtreme Locator trial account Welcome package, record your Account ID as you will need to know it to complete the Joomla Component setup.

To get started, choose follow the instructions below.

  2. Sign-Up for your free Xtreme Locator Trial Account. 
  3. Login to the Xtreme Locator Admin Control Panel and setup your dealers and complete the other setup as detailed in your welcome package.
  4. Go to the Code Generator in the Xtreme Locator Admin Control Panel and copy the "Static HTML Code - Standard" code to your clipboard.
  5. Login to your Joomla admin panel and go to the components list.
  6. Open the Xtreme Locator component, and then paste the iFrame code into the box marked “code”.
  7. Now just link to the component from a menu item to display the dealer locator on your site. If necessary, tweak the component’s size settings to match your template’s width.

  2. Login to your Joomla Admin Control Panel and go to Extensions >> Install/Uninstall.
  3. At "Upload Package File", click the Browse button and locate the zip file (com_xtremelocator_1.5.211.zip) that you downloaded and select it.
  4. Click the "Upload File & Install" button.
  5. Select Xtreme Locator from the Components menu list.
  6. Sign-Up for your free Xtreme Locator Trial Account.  
  7. Login to your Xtreme Locator account, go to Code Generator and select the Static HTML Code - Standard.
  8. Select one of the two search box options from the "Static HTML Code - Standard" screen and click the "Get Code" button.
  9. Copy the code in the popup window and paste it into the "Form" textarea in your Joomla Xtreme Locator component screen.
  10. Click the Save icon.

You are now ready to publish your Xtreme Locator component to your Joomla Website.

  1. Go to the Menu Manager.
  2. Click the Edit Menu icon.
  3. Click Xtreme Locator in the Internal Links list.
  4. Enter a title for the menu name (example; Store Finder)
  5. Click Save.

Xtreme Locator should now be installed on your Website.

Note: You can modify the code for to adjust colors, size, etc. by selecting it from the components menu and modifying the code in the "Form" textarea.
